InfraRed Sample Drying Ovens
We manufacture a range of cost effective and robust laboratory infrared (IR) lamp ovens for the rapid drying of mining/mineral ore samples. Our infrared sample drying ovens have low maintenance costs and are designed for exceptional reliability in remote locations. Our infrared drying oven range covers applications such as the drying of flotation samples, filter cakes, grade control samples and many more. With traditional infrared heating systems there is typically no temperature control and so extraction, which is supplied as standard with most of our systems, is crucial to prevent the equipment overheating as well as to remove corrosive gases and steam. In our infrared systems wet/humid air is not circulated around the sample like in a conventional oven and so the sample’s moisture simply travels in one direction – out (and away). Temperatures can vary within an infrared system due to distance of the sample from the lamp, bulb wattage, width of the sample tray, air flow etc. These factors can, however, also be tweaked to improve effectiveness. In general our single-lamp standard infrared heaters with a 375w heating lamp will heat a sample to max 180 ºC (the sample won’t reach those temps until dry) and dual-lamp infrared heaters will heat a sample up to max 240 ºC. A recommended option with our dual-lamp units is intensity adjustment. where you have the ability to lower the lamp intensity to reduce temperatures. For even higher temps, and therefore faster drying, we can modify these systems and apply more heat but these modifications will add cost, will consume more power and will most likely lead to more significant volatile element losses.
Our Lamp-Based InfraRed heaters are sized for 325x256mm (L x W) stainless steel trays. The typical depth of these trays is 65mm, however there is also a 25mm depth available for smaller samples.
