Wet Screening, Wet Washing or De-Sliming Products
MARC manufactures wet sieving/screening and wet washing/de-sliming equipment typically associated with wet particle sizing tasks. Our wet sieving product range extends from simple single-sieve pneumatic sieve shaker/vibrator straps to full sieve shakers.
For wet applications using 200 and 300mm sieves we suggest using the pneumatic sieve vibrators with wet washing sieves (100mm and 150mm deep, mesh to top lip, respectively), which is significantly higher than the usual height. This allows for a slight water column to facilitate the test. Pneumatic sieve vibrators straps remove the risks typically associated with the use of electrical shakers & vibrators around water.
Please note that as your sieve mesh aperture decreases the wire thread used in the mesh also has to decrease in diameter. So fine apertures such as 20, 25 and 36 µm that have very fine threads are inherently weaker. Care needs to be taken to not overload the mesh at these apertures. Also do not rub the mesh with a hard object – use a rubber-bristle brush to gently sweep the surface of the mesh, or use our solid rubber balls to disrupt the sample compaction on the surface of the mesh. If using rubber balls – add the sample suspension to the sieve already vibrating with the rubber balls – do not add the balls to the sample already on the mesh. Wet wash sieves with backing/suport mesh tend to wear quicker due to abrasion between the two layers – ideally just keep the weights down, with low volumes (mass) of water and use gentle sweeping actions with a soft brush.

2. Electric Single Sieve Vibrators for 200mm and 300mm Sieves
Only one sieve at a time can be used on this model – but the next product below has been beefed up with a heavier-duty drive system with the ability to clamp up to 3 sieves on top of each other – see the Stackable Sieve Vibrator section below for options. The vibrator on the unit above is not sized for large 450mm sieves with sample & water.

6. Stainless Steel Bench Mounted Base Unit for Pneumatic Wet Sieving
We have a sturdy 300mm base unit for the mounting of sieve adaptor platforms for sieves up to 300mm. A 200mm or 300mm sieve adaptor platform is placed on top of the base unit. Vibration is via the sieve basic vibrator straps above – a separately purchased product.
We also have an option of a vibrating sieve platform for either 200 or 300mm sieves where no vibrator strap is need as the vibrator is mounted onto the platform.
We then have a separate 450mm base unit for the larger 450mm sieves. A 450mm sieve adaptor platform is required for that if using the vibrator straps, and a 450mm vibrating sieve platform is also available for that larger base unit.
