MARC Mineral Acid Digestion Heater Blocks
MARC designs and manufactures a range of flat plate or test tube acid digestion equipment specifically designed for both aggressive and mild mineral acid digestions. All our digester’s heated surfaces are available in anodized aluminium or PTFE-coated graphite and all equipment is designed to ensure acid ingress is minimized – thereby prolonging the equipment’s lifespan.
All our digestion equipment is heavy duty and is designed and made for maximum life.
Test Tube Digester Blocks for Aggressive Mineral Acid Environments
We use 316SS for the body of the digester and the heater block itself is manufactured from aluminium and then anodised for additional chemical protection. The heater block is also available in graphite – which is recommended if metal contamination is a concern.
The controller is detached from the main digester body so that it can be placed away from the fumes.
The models in the table below are standard – however please feel free to request any variations. Please note the digester blocks below are designed to heat aqueous samples at temperatures up to 185 deg C. For operator safety reasons – and to prolong element life – do not attempt to run the digester blocks at temperatures higher than 185 deg C. At all times the draught-shield should be used to prevent user scalding and to prolong element life in a fume cupboard environment.

Flat Digester Blocks for Aggressive Mineral Acid Environments

These blocks are specifically designed to minimize acid ingress and so are extremely durable. These blocks are designed for the digestion of acidified aqueous samples up to 185 deg C. This equipment is designed for use in a fume cupboard with 15A power outlets.
