Reclaimers

Reclaimers will generate dust from a stockpile through the action of the pick-up of ore, through to transfer through the reclaimer bucket dump and subsequent discharge onto outfeed conveyors. Even stockpiles which have been subject to watering from water cannons or have had surface treatment using chemical surfactants, the ore below the surface will tend to be unaffected by this treatment and will generate dust if dry and fine.
Dry fog systems applied to reclaimers work on several areas. Where bucket reclaimers are used, treatment of the disturbed ore on the stockpile is achieved by nozzles pointing towards the bucket pick-up point, using the most powerful DSN-12 nozzles in an array mounted on the reclaimer head. Where the ore drops from the buckets onto the feed conveyor, more DSN-12 nozzles fill this area with fog to tackle the fugitive dust generated. The fog also travels up the conveyor, being pulled along with the air current generated as the conveyor moves, acting on any remaining dust as it travels.

Dry fog is extremely effective at counteracting fugitive dust in this scenario, particularly where the action generated from the bucket dump creates exposed surfaces from the product and also tends to create dust as the product tips into the outfeed conveyor. Manifolds opposite the chute from the bucketwheel drop off point put enough fog into the area to prevent this dust escaping into the atmosphere.
